summer craft ideas (part two)

today's craft: hot rocks
(idea found here)

what you need:
*  smooth, flat rocks
*  crayons (with papers peeled off)
*  pot holders

first step: heat rocks on a foil lined baking sheet at 350 degrees for about 15 minutes.

second step: using pot holders... lay rocks on newspaper or towels. then decorate with crayons. rocks will be HOT, so be careful.  the crayons melt as they touch the hot rocks making the colors bright and fun.  trust us. the kids will love this craft!

Just stumbled across your blog! LOVE it! I've lived in vegas since 05! My daughter and her friends get together once a week and when they come to my house we do crafts! I am so excited to use some of your ideas!

Love, love, love your blog! Can't wait to use some of these crafts this summer with my girls! Will you be posting any crafts for younger ones? My girls are 3 1/2 and 19 months. Thanks for you great ideas!!!

I have been reading your blog for a few weeks now, and I just love it. In fact, I finally bought a big circle punch at Michael's yesterday. I only had a couple of smaller ones. :)
You remind me so much of my sisters and me. We live in Gilbert, AZ... all really close to each other. We each have 4 kids, the oldest is 9; the youngest is 3 months. And we get together to do crafts often. We just don't document it.... maybe we should. You're such an inspiration!

I just have to tell you that I am LOVING your blog. You have such great ideas and I am storing them away for summer when my kids are whining for something to do. I did your teacher's box with the goodies in it for my son's preschool teachers, too, and they turned out SO cute. Thanks for all the great ideas!

Fun! I love this because it would be a great way to use up those crayon bits besides making recycled crayons. Plus they would look lovely in the garden.
